À propos de Shiri
Music is my raison d'être! I live and breath it and I can't get enough of it.
My relationship with music started in my mother's womb. My mother played double bass in the Israeli Philharmonic and I used to go see the orchestra rehearse and preform all the time. I just loved the miraculous sound of an orchestra.
Today I am a professional cellist & soprano singer and I also conduct youth orchestras.
I started teaching the cello very early on, when I was only 20, and have never stoped loving it. There is nothing more special than giving someone the gift of being able to play. It is a privilege to be a music teacher, and a pleasure to be able to learn from every student.

No matter how old you are, it is never too late to realize your dream and learn how to play the cello!
While most teachers believe a student has to be young to start a musical instrument, I believe that you can start at any age. The only difference is with the methodology you apply.
Take for example the approach on making mistakes:
Children make mistakes freely and most of the time they are not aware of what's right so the teacher's job is to correct and direct them. With adults it's the opposite. They are so aware of themselves and feel embraced by their mistakes that they become stiff and hesitant if you correct them too much. In fact, not only should you avoid over correcting them, you should also actively encourage them to make more mistakes.
When I started teaching cello, 17 years ago, I was already determined to help "older" individuals realize their dream of playing the cello, so I took on students in all the age groups, even above 80! As I was also teaching children I could see how a different approach with adults made the difference and As the years past I saw the results and was able to prove what I had already known to be true- It is never too late!
