À propos de Lucy
I am a professional pop artist and performer, currently releasing music under my pop project Marilu and performing jazz live on stages across the region. With 12 years of teaching experience, coaching remains one of my most fulfilling pursuits. I find immense joy in bridging the gap between being a full-time creator and helping others find their own artistic voice.
My Musical Roots
My journey began with the rigor of classical piano and performing as a soprano in a professional children's choir. These early years gave me a rock-solid technical foundation. However, my curiosity soon led me toward contemporary music and the craft of songwriting. After mastering the classical basics, I dove deep into the worlds of jazz and pop songwriting, searching for a sound that felt truly mine.
Finding My Sound at the Conservatorium
It was during my studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam that I truly "found my groove" and solidified my identity as a pop musician. This education allowed me to hone the distinctive sound that defines my work today. As a professional artist in the current industry, I bring that same level of dedication and "hallmark identity" to every student I coach.

I believe that a great lesson is a blend of high-level information and a supportive environment. My goal is for every student to leave our session feeling they have spent a personal, unique, and extraordinarily insightful hour in a warm, encouraging atmosphere.
Whether we are working on technical precision or creative expression, I draw from my 12 years of pedagogical experience and my daily life as a professional artist to give you the most relevant, up-to-date guidance possible.

My Teaching Philosophy: Technical Mastery Meets Creative Freedom As a graduate of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and an active pop artist, I bridge the gap between academic vocal science and real-world performance. With 12 years of teaching experience, I offer a method that is technically rigorous yet artistically liberating.
All Genres & Technical Focus Whether your heart lies in Pop, Soul, Jazz, R&B, or Indie, the mechanics of a healthy voice remain the same. My lessons focus heavily on vocal technique, using professional terminology to help you truly understand your instrument. We will work on:
Vocal Registers: Training the transitions between your chest voice, mix, and head voice.
Breath Support: Mastering diaphragmatic breathing and airflow management.
Resonance & Placement: Finding the "sweet spot" in your sound for effortless power and tone.
Vocal Health: Expanding your range and stamina without strain or fatigue.
Articulation & Diction: Ensuring your lyrics carry weight and clarity.
The Instrument First (No Microphone Required) I believe in building the voice from the ground up. In the beginning stages, a microphone is not necessary. We focus on your natural acoustic sound, physical awareness, and projection. By focusing on the "pure" voice first, you develop a much stronger foundation. Once the basics are mastered, we can incorporate microphone techniques for studio or stage preparation.
Structure of a Typical Lesson
Physical Alignment: Exercises to release tension in the jaw, neck, and shoulders.
Technical Warm-up: Specific scales and drills (staccato, legato, sirens) to prepare the vocal folds.
Applied Technique: We apply the technical concepts directly to a song of your choice.
Artistic Interpretation: We analyze phrasing, dynamics, and the "soul" of the song to make it uniquely yours.
Who is this for? My lessons are open to all levels, from absolute beginners to advanced vocalists.
Beginners: Build a solid, healthy foundation in a supportive environment.
Intermediate/Advanced: Refine your "signature sound" and tackle complex technical challenges.
Aspiring Professionals: Specialized coaching for auditions, studio recordings, or live tours.
