À propos de Leanne
Hello! My name is Leanne!
I am a native English speaker from the UK. I am TEFL qualified and I have been teaching English in Paris since January 2019. I also have prior teaching experience in Africa. I give 1-1 classes (cours particulier) to both adults and children. I have taught general English, conversational English, Business English, TOEIC, TOEFL and Cambridge English (levels A1, A2 and C1).
Before teaching, I worked in a nursery for 1 year with children aged 2-3 years. This involved an element of teaching, too!
I am also a qualified Social Worker and I worked in this field for more than 2 years, before I went back to university to gain my Masters degree in Global Development and Education.
I usually give 1-1 lessons in and around Paris but I am now offering online, conversational classes throughout the current health crisis. I am doing these via Skype, but let me know if you use another platform that works well and I will take a look! I have been carrying these out with some of my regular students and they have worked really well! There is also the possibility to continue this, or we can meet for face to face classes, when the health risks have reduced.

These online classes can be for anyone! It will be easier if you have a basic level of English already, but if you are a beginner and confident to give it a go then please feel free to contact me!
My methods are simple: to get you to speak. I can provide topics, or we can discuss something specific to your life or work. I can send you texts to look at before the class that we can then discuss together and sometimes I will ask you questions about the text to check your comprehension. The type of text will differ based on your English level.
Games: I usually either start or end the class with a game. This could include hangman, pictionary, word associarion and more. All you need is a piece of paper and a pen. We can also make use of the chatbox function on Skype. These keep the classes fun, or sometimes get your brain thinking in English at the beginning of the class.
Worksheets and other resources: I have worksheets that I have made myself, or found through some useful websites. I often use these in my classes and can use them with you too! I may send them to you prior to the class, or send you a picture during the class for us to complete the activity.
Tailored to you: My main aim is that you achieve what you want to from the class. If this is to practice your oral speaking, then that's perfect. If you want to focus on grammar, I can push our conversations in that direction, or provide worksheets related to specific grammar you wish to learn. If you want to improve your written English then we can look at this, too! You can also send me your written work and I will proofread and correct this for an extra cost!
