My work has connected me with colleagues across multiple continents and fields, primarily in education and writing-related projects. Mr. James Wilson has long been one of the most consistent and reliable colleagues and collaborators I’ve had the pleasure of working with during my nearly 20 years of working in education. I’ve spent a great deal of time with Mr. Wilson on curriculum development and assessment for English, professional and technical writing, creative non-fiction, and academic or research writing. It was in these areas that I first noticed his attention to detail and his ability to consider and plan for the immediate and long-term development and delivery of content. This includes scaffolded learning, assessments aligned with learning goals, and learner engagement. During the various times we’ve worked together, Mr. Wilson has taught learners from many backgrounds, including elementary- to high school-aged students, undergraduate and graduate students, and prison inmates.

Students should expect a teacher who holds them accountable for their learning. Don’t expect learning with Mr. Wilson to be boring. He’s well-traveled and has a wide range of interests, which helps make it easier to connect with students. If you’re committed to your learning, Mr. Wilson will be committed to helping you reach your goals.

James is an excellent teacher who always keeps the specific needs of his students in mind when planning lessons. The depth and breadth of his subject knowledge are matched only by his ability to find ways for students to make personal connections with the content that he teaches.
