Saïd is a fantastic teacher, and there are so many reasons why I know that, and quite frankly, I can’t even keep count of them. Still, if I had to explain some of them, it would be that he is so patient, and so he takes the time to explain things. Not only that, but he has been the only teacher I have not been afraid/embarrassed to say, "Hey, I couldn’t understand that. Could you repeat it" Even though I said it multiple times, saïd always said sure, no problem, and he would have the same patience, and if I didn’t understand it, he would always find a new way for me to understand.

Saïd is fantastic! I've known him for 2 years now and he is always interested and interesting, he is generous with his time, consistently thoughtful in interactions and personable in his instruction.

I took one year of lessons in French with Saïd before going to France, having already taken 4 years of French in High School and 1 in University, and I can say honestly that I believe I retained more from my instruction with Saïd than all those other years combined. After my year with Saïd, I also had the opportunity to got to spend a month for my first time in France, and I was pleased to receive compliments on my proficiency and accent!

One of my favorite moments with Saïd was when, after one of our lessons, I spoke with him about teaching (I personally toy with the idea of become a teaching role sometimes). Saïd shared with me his perspective on teaching & tutoring: ‘All the information that I am giving you,’ he said, ‘is out there for free. My job is primarily to encourage you,’ and he certainly lives up to that standard as a motivating, helpful, and patient instructor.

Saïd is an amazing educator that cares deeply about his students and making sure that they understand before moving on to the next thing. He’s thoughtful when planning and delivering his lessons. Couldn’t recommend anyone better!!

Saïd is the most engaging teacher for French I’ve met. He’s always willing to go the extra mile to find the best examples and exercises, or the most culturally relevant elements to bridge language and culture, so as a native speaker his insight is always on point!
He no only gives you an excellent basis on the language, he makes sure you learn about it within its cultural and political context too. He’s great!
