Hi! I'm Thương, a Vietnamese teacher from Hanoi – the heart of Vietnam's culture.

I'm a patient, cheerful, friendly tutor who is passionate about helping international learners speak Vietnamese naturally and confidently.

In my lessons, I use real-life stories and everyday conversations to help you not only improve your Vietnamese, but also understand the culture behind the language. Whether you're focusing on grammar or communication, I will always tailor the lessons to what you need most — so that you can see fast and meaningful progress.

I’ve worked with students from Japan, South Korea, the U.S., Germany, China, and more – helping them not only master the Vietnamese language but also deeply understand the culture and people of Vietnam.

I teach in the Northern Vietnamese accent (Hanoi dialect). I also speak English (TOEIC 800+) and Japanese (JLPT N2), which allows me to explain difficult concepts in an easy and understandable way.

Outside of teaching, I love traveling, exploring, and taking international friends to discover local food, cultural sites, and hidden gems around Hanoi.

I hold a professional certificate in Teaching Vietnamese as a Foreign Language.

With over 5 years of experience, I have taught students of all levels – from absolute beginners to advanced learners aiming to use Vietnamese for work and daily life.

Parfait ! Mme Thuong is a very good teacher always smiling, any lessons with her are so helpful and very fun. She will teach you the Vietnamese but also the culture. I feel more confidente to speak Vietnamese when i’m taking lessons with her.

LILA apprend le vietnamien très rapidement ! Sa prononciation est très naturelle et précise. Il lui suffit de continuer à construire une base solide et à enrichir son vocabulaire, et elle parlera bientôt le vietnamien couramment et avec confiance, comme une locutrice native. Je suis vraiment très fier d’elle !

1) When and why did you become interested in your field?
I became interested in teaching Vietnamese and Japanese when I was a student. I first learned Japanese because I liked the language and culture. Later, I helped some friends and foreigners learn Vietnamese, and I realized I really enjoyed explaining things and helping others learn. That’s how I decided to become a teacher.
2) What makes you passionate about your subject?
I love how language connects people from different countries. When my students can communicate confidently in Vietnamese or Japanese, I feel very happy. Teaching is not only about language, but also about sharing culture and real-life experiences.
3) What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a “Superprof”?
I enjoy seeing my students improve step by step. I always try to make lessons simple, practical, and suitable for each student. I’m patient, flexible, and I really care about my students, and I think that’s what makes me a “Superprof”.
4) Do you have any role models? A teacher who inspired you?
Yes, I’ve had some great teachers who inspired me a lot. They didn’t just teach, they made learning interesting and meaningful. Because of them, I always try to support my students and motivate them in my own classes.
